Introduction to Egyptian COC certification

        New rules for Egyptian industry and trade -- no longer accept COC for 24 products of CIQ &

On December 30, 2015, the ministry of trade and industry of Egypt issued new regulations that manufacturers of 24 kinds of commodities exported to Egypt need to register with Egypt import and export control bureau (GOEIC).The Egyptian customs will not release the products of the manufacturers who have not completed the registration.

       This means: Egypt no longer accepts CIQ, and in addition to textiles that have been included in the scope of control, 23 new products have also been included in the scope of VOC control, which requires COC certificate!

      The new rules will take effect two months after they are issued, on March 1, 2016.

     Retail dairy products;Retail canned and dried fruit;Retail edible oils and fats;Retail sales of chocolate and other foods containing cocoa;Sugar;Pasta;Retail juice;Purified water, mineral water and soft drinks;Cosmetics, skin care products, dental care products, deodorants, toiletries, perfumes;Retail soap and soap cleaning products;Ground covering products;Tableware and kitchenware;Bathtub, sink, toilet;Toilet paper, toilet paper, diapers;Ceramic tile;A glass table;Military iron tools;Appliances such as stoves, fryers, air conditioners, fans, washing machines, stirrers and water heaters;Furniture and office furniture;Bicycles, motorcycles and electric vehicles;Clocks and watches;Household lighting equipment;Children's toys.

    Introduction of COC certification process in Egypt

   1. Submit product documentation for evaluation (valid test report, proforma invoice, packing list, application form)

   2. Issue notification of project conformity by DERK

   3. The exporter receives the DERK project charge sheet and provides the bank slip after payment

   4. Make an on-site inspection appointment 3 working days in advance

   5. After passing the inspection, the exporter shall provide the final documents (commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading).

   6. Issue COC certificate

   Egyptian COC processing cycle

   (1) audit time: 2-3 working days (according to the product name and quantity, the audit time may be extended).

   (2) inspection time: according to the inspection department and customer's specific itinerary to determine the site inspection date.

   (3) certification time: after the inspection, we will give the client the confirmation of the draft in 3 working days.
