Project Service Introduction to burundian COC certification On March 15, 2014, the Bureau Burundias DE Normalisation (BBN) will be implementing the pre-shipment conformity assessment programme.This program requires the assessment of all controlled products imported into Burundi and the issuance of a conformity certificate (CoC) to prove that the products meet the applicable standards. The new assessment programme is for all goods exported to Burundi under the catalogue and aims to ensure that products exported to Burundi meet the appropriate Burundi and international standards.The primary objectives of the programme are: 1. Ensure product compliance with technical regulations and mandatory standards applicable to Burundi (or equivalent) 2. Ensure product quality, health and safety, environmental protection and other requirements of burundian consumers 3. Prevent substandard and counterfeit goods from entering Burundi 4. To promote trade and commerce and to implement compliance assessment procedures in accordance with TBT/WTO article 5 Burundi COC process 1. Submit application materials 2. Authorize license-issuing organs to examine and verify materials 3. Inform the applicant at the same time of approval of inspection 4, inspection personnel to the factory inspection 5. Evaluate the inspection report 6. Issue the certificate draft 7. Issue PVOC-COC clearance certificate Documents needed to prepare for the Burundi COC customs clearance certificate: 1. Packing List: Packing List 2. Proforma Invoice 3. Product test report: there is no need to repeat the test if there is already a test report, except for those that need sampling test 4.
